The four Hebrew young men chose to keep themselves pure by abstaining from anything that defiles and to live for God.

Daniel’s decision to honour God by not defiling his body with the king’s delicacies prompted God to honour him by granting him favour and goodwill.

When one repents of sins, obtains God’s forgiveness, receives Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord, and chooses to please God, He reciprocates in wonderful ways.

Certain foods and drinks do more harm than good to our bodies, causing ill health and destroying the ‘building’ where God wants to live in.

Very many people do not believe in God, let alone have faith in Him.

Some people have a distorted view of the character of our God, due to ignorance.

Our God is compassionate, full of mercy, not easily provoked to anger due to people’s sins, full of unfailing love, etc.

One can only experience these qualities of our Heavenly Father, when s/he repents of his/her sinful lifestyles, obtains God’s forgiveness, and receives His Son – Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord.

None of the wise men in Babylon could help the king, except Daniel because he had the Spirit of God in him.

In a time of crisis in Babylon, Daniel’s wisdom, understanding and insight were sought after, because he had the Holy Spirit with him.

To be a born-again Christian is not to be religious, rather it’s for the Holy Spirit living in us to use us to bring solutions to the world’s problems.
