He is bound by His Word concerning us – His children, to fulfil them.

But on our part, we need to develop our faith to believe and receive what He has promised us in His Word.

A ‘stony heart’ is used to describe a person who rebels against God’s Word.

This is the work of evil spirits that keep such persons from hearing and believing God’s Word for their salvation.

The wars/battles the Israelites fought in the Old Testament were a contest between the LORD GOD of Israel and the gods of those nations.

The LORD GOD showcased His supremacy over those gods by giving Israel victories.

When a person turns away from a life of sin, receives Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord, and follows Him daily, the LORD GOD will fight for him/her and give them victories over the gods of the lands in which we dwell, in the name of Jesus Christ!

God manifested Himself to the Israelites in the Old Testament as a consuming fire.

As nothing can stand in the way of fire, so nothing can stand in our way when God – ‘The Consuming Fire’ is with us.

This is why Heb. 12:29 says; ‘…our God is a consuming fire.’
